This is a Murchison Falls safari that takes you Uganda’s spectacular heritage, with breathtaking scenic allure, and landscapes. Along the Nile River, Along the Nile River, you’ll get to enjoy a game drive and a boat cruise ride. You’ll get to visit the top of the Murchison Falls where the River Nile falls into a 40 meters deep floor through a 7 meters long gorge, producing a continuous thunderous explosion. But after that, it flows as a peaceful river and harbours many water and land animals as well as birds.

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park (5-6hrs)

You will have an early breakfast and drive to Murchison Falls National Park passing through beautiful woodlands and Savannah grasslands. This journey takes 6-7 hours and on arrival you will have lunch your lunch and have a rest. In the afternoon hours at around 3 pm, you’ll be taken for a boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile to the base of the falls. You’ll be able to spot hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks and a variety of bird species including the unusual shoebill stork. The boat will briefly stop just 10 meters from the Devil’s Cauldron from where you can click up close pictures of the photogenic Murchison Falls. After that, you’ll be taken to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Red Chili or Windsor Hotel (budget) as per your preference.

Day 2: Game drive and return to Kampala

You will wake up very early and set off at 6.30am for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau to see the Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest and waterbucks. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog and bush pig plus large carnivores including lions, leopards and spotted hyenas. Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park. Crocodiles and hippos will be seen along the banks of the Nile. which is also an excellent breeding ground for bird species. Some bird species like goliath heron, pelican, hornbill, kingfisher, bee-eaters, Egyptian geese, cormorant, saddle-bill stork and the rare shoebill stork can be spotted near the bank. You will return to the lodge for breakfast and relax till afternoon when you’ll be taken for a boat ride on the Victoria Nile, upstream to the base of the waterfalls.
