Day 1: Fly from Entebbe International Airport to Kisoro Airstrip
After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe International Airport and aboard a scheduled flight offered by Aero link Uganda to Kisoro Airstrip in the south of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The Ariel views of the Ugandan countryside including the beautiful rangelands of Lake Mburo National Park dotted with counts of wild game and myriad of Lakes, the magical scenery of Kigezi Highlands and the Virunga chain of eighth mountains stretching from Uganda through Rwanda to DR Congo. Upon landing at Kisoro Airstrip, you find the safari vehicle and your guide waiting for you after which you will transfer to the lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon, you can opt to explore the Batwa community in the environs to explore their heritage before return for dinner and overnight Lake Mutanda for Luxury options or Broadbill Forest Camp or Gorilla Valley Lodge for Mid-range Options. Meal plan, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 2: Undertake gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early morning breakfast transfer to the respective park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers at 8:00am and then begin the gorilla trek with the help of the rangers and porters who can even extend physical support when climbing the slippery terrain becomes challenging. This activity takes about 2- 8 hours or more depending on the direction and movement of these gorillas on that particular day. Gorilla tracking is quite tedious but seeing them play, feed and interact is an exciting and breathtaking moment to every visitor to Uganda. Later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight Bunyonyi Safari Resort (Mid-range) Birdnest Bunyonyi (Luxury)
Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi and drive to Queen Elizabeth NP via Ishasha for tree- climbing lions
After your breakfast, we’ll go for a canoeing ride at this lake. Bunyonyi is considered one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. With a depth of 900 meters, it is the second deepest lake of Uganda and among the safest places in the country for swimming as the lake is bilharzisis-free. The terraced hills around the water’s edges surround the lake and form the landscape. Bunyonyi in the local language means “place of little birds,” and as evident by the name, there are plenty of birdlife around the lake. In the afternoon hours, you have the option of going either for a canoe ride, swim in the lake, or hike to the top of the hills from where you’ll be rewarded with exceedingly beautiful scenery of the western part of the country. Then we’ll make our way towards Ishasha which is the southern section of the Queen Elizabeth National Park where you’ll have a game drive. You can spot animals like tree climbing lions, buffalos, elephants, kob and waterbuck antelopes etc. After the game drive, we’ll proceed to the upper section for relaxing. Dinner and overnight at the Bush Lodge or Baboon Safari Resort for a budget stay or Mweya Safari Lodge for a luxury stay.
Day 4: Game Drive /Boat cruise and later transfer to Kibale Forest
On day 4, you’ll be taken for an early morning game drive where you’ll have a chance to catch up with the early birdie grazers and predators who are seen returning to their hide outs after night hunting. The game drive will last for about 3 to 4 hours and you can spot animals like lions, leopards, stripped jackals, hyenas, buffalos, waterbucks, bushbucks. Kobs among others. Later in the afternoon go for a launch trip on the Kazinga channel at 2pm. Also referred to as the Paradise of Hippos the Kazinga Channel supports one of the great concentrations of Hippos in the world. They have gradually rejuvenated following the great Hippo Curl that took place in the 1950s to reduce the Hippo populations that had caused over grazing in the park. The channel also offers sights of the Nile Crocodiles along with water birds. Retreat from the 2 hour activity and embark on the drive in the channel track to explore more game as you transfer to Kibale Forest National Park where you will arrive late in the evening check in lodge, dinner and overnight Kibale Forest Camp/Isunga Lodge (Mid-Range) Primate Lodge (Luxury)
Day 5: Chimp track in Kibale Forest and transfer to Kasese Airstrip to flight back to Entebbe
After having your breakfast, you’ll report to the Kanyanchu Tourist Center where you’ll receive a briefing on the rules and regulation of the chimpanzee tracking tour. Kibale Forest National Park accommodates the highest concentration and greatest variety of primates in entire East Africa. A total of 13 distinct primate species are found in here, the most of which is the chimpanzee, a very delightful ape. The trekking tour will last for about 2 to 3 hours and will give you a chance of spotting various animals, birds, and butterflies along with primates. Following that you’ll get transferred to the Kasese Airstrip to catch your aero link scheduled flight to Entebbe which will mark the end of your tour at Kibale.
