Kibale Queen and Mgahinga Trip
Home »This is a 7 day Uganda safari that will take you to Kibale Forest National Park for Chimp trekking which is the main attraction. You will continue to Queen Elizabeth for game viewing and boat cruise, head to Mgahinga for Golden Monkey habituation experience before returning to Kampala.

Day 1: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park and Bigodi walk
You will depart Kampala after breakfast and head westwards to Fort Portal town. The drive will take about 4 -5 hours. You will have lunch in Fort Portal and continue to Kibale where you will go for either a community walk or visit the beautiful Crater lakes region for a spectacular view. Later in the evening you will go for the Bigodi swamp walk where you will see a variety of rare bird species and other smaller mammals and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Rweteera Safari Park

Day 2: Chimp tracking and nature walk in Kibale Forest
After breakfast you will report at the Kanyanchu Tourist Centre at 08.00 am for a briefing on the rules before tracking the chimpanzees. Kibale National Park possesses the greatest variety and concentration of primates in entire Eastern Africa. There are a total of 13 primate species, the most famous of whom is the chimpanzee which is a delightful ape. The trek will take about 2 to 3 hours and will provide you n opportunity to spot other primate species along with other mammals, butterflies, and insects. You’ll return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for another nature walk to the Bigodi Wetland. In Bigodi, you’ll be able to see varieties of bird and monkey species. After that, you’ll travel to the Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Rwenzori Mountain Range. Dinner and overnight will be organized at the Kazinga Channel View Resort.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your morning breakfast, you will have an early morning Game drive where you will see the lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephant, Defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi and bushbuck among others. Later, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for an 2 hour boat cruise ride along the Kazinga Channel. The channel which is 42 kms long join the lakes of Edward and George. The trip will pass through perhaps the most concentrated region of hippos which is also a sublime photographic zone. Bird watching and game viewing are must in this place. The prolific birdlife is both varied and colorful with over 550 resident species inhabiting the park. Dinner and overnight will be spent at Kazinga Channel View Resort

Day 4: Chimp tracking and nature walk
After your breakfast early morning visit Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzees trekking visitors can climb through tropical forest and catch a glimpse of a variety of primates, including chimpanzees.
Queen National Park diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forests, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is a home to an incredible abundant wildlife, after go for a nature walk through Nyamasingiri later return for dinner and overnight Kazinga Channel View Resort.
Day 5: Game drive and transfer to Kisoro
You will set off early (about 6.30am) for a morning game drive, an awesome experience to spot the animals in natural habitats. You can expect to see most of the members of the Big Five: elephant, buffalos, leopard, lions along with bushbucks, kobs, giant forest hog, hyenas, antelopes, waterbucks, and various birds.
You will thereafter travel to Kisoro town near the Rwanda border in preparation for the following day’s activities in the volcanic mountains. And if it is a Monday or Thursday there is a large colourful market in Kisoro which you can visit. You will have dinner and overnight at Tourland Cottages
Day 6: Golden Monkey Habituation experience at Mgahinga
Today you will choose one of the four activities that can be undertaken in this place. You will either go for Volcano hiking, Golden monkey habituation experience which takes a maximum of 4 hours this activity can be done either in the morning or in the afternoon, but we with the morning session, You will return to your lodge for a late lunch and spend the rest of the day resting till dinner time and overnight Tourland Cottages.
Day 7: Transfer back to Entebbe via Kampala
After breakfast we transfer to Kampala then to Entebbe International Airport to catch you’ evening flight back home.
