Day 1: Arrival Nairobi – overnight

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport, you are met by Hallmark Travel Planners representative. You transfer to Sarova Panafric Hotel for overnight. Booked on Bed and breakfast meal plan.

Day 2: Drive from Nairobi to Aberdares National park

Breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi. After breakfast, depart driving to Aberdares National Park. You expect to arrive in time for lunch.

The 766 sq. km of the Aberdare area are rich in wildlife. The Salient stretching out towards the nearby town of Nyeri, was once an elephant migration route, not used any more today. These great animals remain within the park together with buffalo, a wide variety of antelope, giant forest hog, the elusive bongo, rhino, lions and hyenas. Tacazze and Malachite Sunbird, Mountain Buzzard and African Goshawk are found in this area where the birdlife is abundant and varied. Enjoy overnight game viewing from the comfort you’re your room at Mountain Lodge.

Day 3: Aberdare to Samburu

Breakfast at the lodge in Aberdares. After this, you begin drive towards Samburu Game reserve in the northern part of Kenya, just past Isiolo town. You arrive just in time for lunch.

The tranquil Uaso Nyiro River, flowing through Shaba and Samburu, attract a wide number of rare wildlife and provides a natural habitat for crocodile. Long necked gerenuk, Grevy´s zebra and reticulated giraffe are species not found in the less arid areas to the south. Elephant seek solace and contentment in the shallow waters of this wide sauntering river, fringed with acacia, down palms and tamarind, which together with Buffalo Springs, support a large variety of african mammals, cheetah and leopard being particularly well represented. Doves and guinea fowl abound and the giant Martial Eagle perched on some high vantage point. At 1630, game drive till sunset in the reserve. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or similar.

Day 4: Day in Samburu Game Reserve

All day game viewing in Samburu game reserve. Optional picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or similar.

Day 5: Samburu Game Reserve Ol Pejeta

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, join up with your guide and drive to Ol Pejeta conservancy. You will get to the ranch in time for lunch at the Sweetwaters Tented camp.

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 90,000-acre private wildlife conservancy. It is situated on the equator, between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snow-capped Mount Kenya.

The conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals, including the “Big Five” (the endangered black and white rhino , leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion), Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, cheetah and chimpanzee. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Tented camp or similar.

Day 6: Ol Pejeta – Lake Nakuru

Early morning game drive in Ol Pejeta Ranch followed by breakfast. After breakfast, leave the camp and drive towards the rift valley to arrive in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru National park.

Superb example of conservation at work in the wild, Lake Nakuru is now, with the assistance of the World Wildlife Foundation, providing sanctuary for Rothschild Giraffe, Black and White Rhino and Leopard who live in perfect harmony in this aquatic landscape.

The edge of the lake is frequently a crimson ribbon of Greater and Lesser Flamingoes, while pelicans and other water birds swim and fish in majestic flotilla formation. After lunch relax at the lodge till 1630 hours. You then go on game drive till sunset. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or similar.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

Early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National park before breakfast. After breakfast, depart for the famous Masai Mara Game reserve. You arrive in time for lunch at the Mara. Check in at the lodge. After lunch, relax till time for the late afternoon game drive that goes until sunset.

The Masai Mara is a reserve of breathless vistas, a panorama of vast rolling plains, hills and woodland groves, well watered by the Mara River, concentrating in its proximity permanent populations of wildlife: this is lion, leopard, cheetah and elephant country, with buffalo lurking in the forest and a superb abundance of plains game: zebras, Thompson and Grant gazelles, topis … But all this richness is secondary to the Mara main attraction: the annual migration, which takes place between July and September. Over a million wildebeest, more than two hundred thousand zebra with their attendant predators cross the Mara River and spread across the plains in a seemingly endless procession. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or similar.

Day 8: Day in Masai Mara

0630 hours early morning game drive followed by breakfast at your lodge. Further game drive in the Mara with picnic lunch if you wish. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or similar.

Day 9: Drive to Nairobi – Depart

Early morning game drive will be followed by breakfast before you depart and return back to Nairobi. You arrive in the early afternoon and drive to Carnivore Restaurant for dinner.
