Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is one such place where short excursion trips are conducted and this tour will take you to.

    The tour will require you to depart early in the morning at around 7:00 am and our company drive will pick you from your accommodation. Along the way, he’ll brief you of the tour itinerary. Reaching Ziwa Sanctuary will take about 2 and 1/2hours of drive time through the districts of Kampala, Luweero, and ultimately the Nakasongola district where the park is situated.

    From the Kampala Gulu highway, it is 176 kms north of Kampala . This Project was founded by the Rhino Fund Uganda and Uganda Wildlife Authority with the aim of re-introducing Black and White Rhinos in Uganda’s National Parks. This sanctuary was established to breed black and white rhinos and restore their populations in Uganda’s protected areas at a later stage. Currently, a total of 13 southern white rhinoceros are accommodated in the sanctuary. Along with spotting the rhinos are other wildlife, the parks is also popular for bird watching, nature walks, or simply for relaxing in the calm atmosphere.

    Rhino tracking takes about 2hours in the company of well trained and knowledgeable local guides. So after this great experience, you will head to the restaurant for your thrilling lunch and some refreshments, afterwards be driven back to your hotel in Kampala where you will reach late in the evening and you will be dropped at your hotel and this will mark the end of this 1 day ziwa rhino sanctuary.
