Villa Kololo is an upmarket boutique hotel, and is owned by the same people as the adjacent Italian restaurant Mediterraneo. Okay, there's no accounting for taste, but it is hard to disagree that the interior design of the restaurant and hotel is among the nicest in Kampala. The place evokes the ambience of a Zanzibari villa. The hotel is conveniently located at Acacia Avenue, close to Acacia Mall and has many nice restaurants and bars.
Perhaps a French boutique hotel is not the first thing you are after when you go to visit Uganda, but it is surely worth a stay. The architecture is so French that you have to pinch yourself to know that you are actually in Kampala. The rooms are nicely arranged around a courtyard, have all the modern amenities like wifi, and at the restaurant they serve simple but good French cuisine. The staff do get mixed reviews though. Village Mall, a new shopping mall in Bugolobi, is at a walking distance.KNOW MORE
