    Murchison River Lodge is located on a beautiful spacious plot at the southern bank of the River Nile. They offer a variety of accommodation possibilities, including family cottages and 'lazy' camping. The best part of car rental is that it enables you to have the most freedom to explore Murchison Falls and relax for a few days at Murchison River Lodge. You take the second left, follow the road for 4 kilometres (through the rangers’ village) until you reach Mubako gate from which you can exit the National Park. Follow this rough dirt road for some 1 ½ kilometres and then you reach Murchison River Lodge: www.murchisonriverlodge.com. If you continue on this road for some minutes, you reach the lovely Nile Safari Lodge (upmarket) and, yes, they have a great swimming pool. For both lodges you can avoid entering the national park, and therefore avoid paying park entrance fees, by taking the much longer, but very picturesque route via the Albert shoreline and Bulisa town.

    An unforgettable experience is to Bush Camp on the delta, where the sensation of hearing the hippos grazing next to your tent in the night, and seeing the sun rise and set over the surrounding lake and river, is unforgettable. You can book in advance via the Uganda Wildlife Association (US$ 35 pp) or arrange it on the spot at the UWA office at the Paraa ferry point (US$ 45 pp).
