11-Day Uganda & Kenya Primate and Wildlife Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative of Frena Adventures and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe. This charming lakeside town sits on the shores of Lake Victoria and offers a relaxed introduction to Uganda.

Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to enjoy a guided walk through the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, known for their rich birdlife and indigenous plant species, or visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre to see rescued wildlife and learn about conservation efforts in the country. The evening is spent at leisure, allowing you to recover from your journey and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

Day 2: Fly Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Entebbe Airport for a scheduled domestic flight to southwestern Uganda. The scenic flight offers breathtaking aerial views of Uganda’s rolling hills, lakes, and cultivated countryside before landing at either Kisoro or Kihihi Airstrip, depending on your assigned gorilla trekking sector.

Upon arrival, your safari guide will meet you and transfer you to your lodge located near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a Batwa Cultural Trail experience, where former forest dwellers share their traditions, survival skills, and deep spiritual connection to the forest. The evening is spent relaxing at the lodge as the sounds of the rainforest surround you.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

This day marks the highlight of your Ugandan adventure. After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for a comprehensive briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. The briefing covers trekking guidelines, safety procedures, and gorilla behavior.

You will then begin your trek through the dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take between two and six hours depending on terrain and gorilla movements. Once located, you will spend a magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat. This intimate wildlife experience is both humbling and unforgettable.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch, relaxation, and an evening at leisure.

Day 4: Fly Bwindi to Entebbe – Continue to Nairobi

After breakfast, you will transfer to Kisoro Airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe. Upon arrival, connect to your international flight to Nairobi, Kenya.

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your Kenyan safari representative and transferred for a brief city orientation. You will then visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust during the elephant feeding session, where orphaned elephants are rehabilitated before being reintroduced to the wild. This conservation visit offers a meaningful insight into wildlife protection efforts in Kenya.

Later, transfer to your hotel for overnight rest.

Day 5: Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast, depart Nairobi for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a scenic drive of approximately three to four hours through Kenya’s central highlands. The conservancy lies between the Aberdare Range and Mount Kenya and is renowned for its conservation initiatives.

Arrive mid-morning and enjoy a game drive as you transfer to your lodge, spotting plains game such as giraffes, zebras, and elephants. After lunch, enjoy time at leisure before heading out for an evening game drive when wildlife becomes more active.

Days 6 & 7: Ol Pejeta – Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Rhino Conservation

These two days are dedicated to exploring the conservation success stories of Ol Pejeta Conservancy. After breakfast each morning, you will visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, home to rescued chimpanzees from West and Central Africa. Guided visits provide insight into their rehabilitation journey and long-term care.

You will also track endangered black rhinos and learn about efforts to protect the last remaining northern white rhinos. Picnic lunches, afternoon game drives, and relaxing sundowners in the conservancy allow for a flexible and immersive experience.

Day 8: Fly to Masai Mara National Reserve
