This 6 Days Uganda Gorillas, Chimpanzees & Wildlife adventure begins in Kigali and ends in Entebbe or Kampala, combining Rwanda’s Volcanoes region with Uganda’s top wildlife destinations. The journey features golden monkey trekking, an exclusive mountain gorilla habituation experience, classic safari game drives, a scenic Kazinga Channel boat cruise, and unforgettable chimpanzee trekking.

You will explore Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to over half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas; Queen Elizabeth National Park, celebrated for its diverse wildlife and tree-climbing lions; and Kibale Forest National Park, Africa’s premier chimpanzee trekking destination.

6 Days Uganda Gorillas, Chimpanzees & Wildlife Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali – Volcanoes NP – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda)

Early morning pickup from Kigali at around 6:00 am and drive to Volcanoes National Park in Kinigi. After a briefing, trek through bamboo forests to observe golden monkeys in their natural habitat and enjoy one full hour with them.
After lunch, proceed to the Rwanda–Uganda border, clear immigration, and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience – Rushaga Sector (Bwindi)

After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing. Join a small group (maximum of 8 guests) and enter the rainforest for the gorilla habituation experience, which allows extended time with a semi-habituated gorilla family.
Spend several hours observing, photographing, and learning about these gentle giants before returning to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 3: Bwindi – Ishasha Sector – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the famous Ishasha Sector, known for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy wildlife viewing en route, followed by lunch at the lodge.
In the afternoon, embark on a game drive to spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, and numerous bird species.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Begin the day with an early morning game drive to catch predators and other wildlife at their most active.
After lunch, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its high concentration of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and spectacular birdlife.

Day 5: Game Drive, Baboon Cliff & Transfer to Kibale Forest

After breakfast, enjoy a short game drive and visit Baboon Cliff for panoramic views of the park.
Later, drive to Kibale Forest National Park (approximately 2–3 hours). Arrive in the evening, check in at the lodge, and relax.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking – Transfer to Entebbe / Kampala

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your chimpanzee trekking experience. Track chimpanzees through the forest with experienced rangers and encounter other primates and bird species along the way.
After the trek, drive to Kampala via Mubende with lunch en route, then continue to Entebbe for airport drop-off or hotel transfer.
