This 4-day Gorilla Habituation and Lake Bunyonyi safari takes you to the misty forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to over half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, depart Kampala and drive southwest toward Bwindi. Stop at the Uganda Equator for photos and a short break.
Continue through rolling countryside and lush farmlands, with lunch in Mbarara. Arrive in Bwindi in the late afternoon, check in at your lodge, and relax.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Begin your trek into the dense rainforest in search of a gorilla family undergoing habituation.
Tracking time varies depending on gorilla movement, but the reward is exceptional. You will spend up to four hours observing the gorillas at close range—watching them feed, play, and interact naturally. This rare experience offers deeper insight than standard gorilla trekking.
Return to the lodge in the afternoon to rest and reflect on this unforgettable encounter.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Canoeing & Leisure
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, often described as one of the most beautiful places in Uganda. The lake is Africa’s second deepest (about 900 meters) and is safe for swimming.
Enjoy a canoe ride on the calm waters while admiring terraced hills and abundant birdlife. In the afternoon, choose from optional activities such as swimming, village walks, or hiking to scenic viewpoints overlooking the lake.

Day 4: Batwa Cultural Experience & Return to Kampala
After breakfast, enjoy a guided walk along the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, taking in panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Later, take a boat ride to visit the Batwa community, where you will learn about their traditional lifestyle, farming practices, and cultural heritage.
After the cultural visit, begin your drive back to Kampala with lunch and a brief stop at the Equator en route. Arrive in the evening, marking the end of your safari.
