Tsavo East National Park

Situated in the southeast of Kenya, the iconic Tsavo East National Park is the home of lions and other  Big Five animals ( Leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffalo). Earlier , the area belonged to the Greater Tsavo Conservation Area  (21,000 km²) but was separated into two parks, Tsavo West National Park and Tsavo East National Park by the railway line from Nairobi to Mombasa at the coast.

How To get To Tsavo East Reserve

For those looking forward to visiting Tsavo East Area during the Africa holiday tour, it is very important to know how to access sanctuary. Transportation to the coastal lands can be done through 2 ways; road and air transport.

Driving to the southeast from Nairobi takes about 6-8 hours to arrive at Voi Gate about 325 kilometers away. Those starting from Mombasa can take between 1-2 hours to arrive at   the gate.  A charter flight can be hired from Nairobi to Tsavo wildlife home and it could 45 minutes to one hour to arrive at the airstrips available near Tsavo East sanctuary. Despite road and air being the most frequently used by visitors, the third option is the Madaraka Express Train that moves thrice between the capital Nairobi and Mombasa.
