Fly in Uganda Safari

A Fly in Uganda Safari is ideal for travelers who wish to move swiftly from the lively, fast-paced atmosphere of the city to the untouched wilderness of Uganda’s National Parks, while also avoiding the long ground transfer by road. The Uganda Fly in Safaris are best suited to people with limited time or those that do not fancy the long ground transfers. Although Fly in Uganda Safaris involve boarding light aircrafts to fly between major destinations, visitors are still guaranteed an opportunity to enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the Pearl of Africa’s expansive and beautiful landscapes.

During the Fly-in safaris even the more remote Uganda’s National Parks and destinations are easier to access and takes little time than ever. By using scheduled and chartered flights between locations, travelers reach their destinations more quickly and in greater comfort than by road. In addition, flying offers a unique, bird’s-eye perspective of Uganda’s diverse scenery, adding an extra dimension to the overall safari experience.

Many of Uganda’s most popular safari attractions are situated far from the capital city and the country’s only international airport at Entebbe, making road travel long and tiring. Light aircraft flights between national parks and remote areas help travelers save both time and energy, allowing them to focus more on meaningful wildlife encounters and immersive experiences throughout their journey in Uganda.

Flying between national parks is particularly suitable for solo travelers, couples, or small groups of up to two people, as it reduces travel time and transport-related costs. While driving may be more economical and enjoyable for larger groups, travelers with limited time or specific budget considerations often find that air transfers are well worth the investment.

Enjoy the ease and luxury of flying between Uganda’s national parks and elevate your African safari adventure to an entirely new level.

Places to go on a Fly in Uganda Safari

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Kihihi Airstrip & Kisoro Airstrip)

The Fly-in experience in Uganda allows to fly to the country’s iconic destinations like Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the home of the mountain gorillas in Africa. Contrary to the ground transfers by road that take about 9-11 hours from Kampala, a fly in safari to Bwindi takes about 2 hours from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airstrip to Kisoro Airstrip in Kisoro. From Kisoro, visitors are picked up and transferred by car to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where they will be able to trek the gorillas.

Traveling is more convenient, less exhausting and timely for travelers who want to have a shorter gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

From Entebbe International Airport, expect to take at least 2 hours to reach Kihihi Airstrip and Kisoro. Upon reaching Kisoro or Kihihi, a drive to the gorilla trekking national parks take about 2 hours.

Flying to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park in the west of Uganda is the home of tree climbing lions and four of the five members of the African Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, and elephant) among other wildlife species. To get to this wilderness in Kasese District, it takes 6-7 hours by road from Kampala the capital. For travelers looking for a faster and more convenient way of reaching the park, embark n our Fly in Uganda Safaris. You can fly from Entebbe international airport or Kajjansi Airstrip to Kasese Airstrip from where you’ll transfer to the park by road. From Kasese town, the drive to this iconic park takes close to one hour to reach the gate. The near by airstrips at Queen Elizabeth National Park are; Kasese and Mweya from where you start the drive to the national park.

Kidepo Valley National Park

Kidepo Valley National Park is one of the furthest places in Uganda situated in the Northwest close to Kenya and South Sudan. Hiring a charter flight to this rich wildlife wilderness is worth all the time and money. Nicknamed “ The Mara of Uganda”, Kidepo Valley is one of the parks with the highest animal numbers that cannot be seen in other park. To get to this remote paradise, one has to start the flight from Entebbe International Airport of Kajjansi to the Pakuba Airstrip in Northern Uganda. Furthermore, there are airstrips at Bungungu and Chobe from where to board your 4×4 vehicle and head to Kidepo Valley National Park.
