This 16-day Uganda Adventure Holiday takes you through some of the country’s most iconic landscapes and wildlife areas. You will visit Murchison Falls National Park for game drives and Nile boat cruises, Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking, Queen Elizabeth National Park for classic savannah wildlife and boat safaris, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for unforgettable mountain gorilla trekking.
Along the way, you will experience Uganda’s scenic countryside, rich cultures, lakes, forests, and rivers, clearly revealing why the country is famously known as the “Pearl of Africa.”
Detailed 16 Days Uganda Adventure Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, depart at 7:00am and drive north through Luweero and Masindi districts, passing traditional farms and villages. Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for guided rhino tracking. Continue to Masindi town for lunch before proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park.
In the afternoon, visit the top and bottom of Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces its way through a 7-metre-wide gorge before plunging 45 metres below. Enjoy breathtaking viewpoints ideal for photography.
Dinner & Overnight: Fort Murchison Lodge (Mid-range)
Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise
After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive on the northern bank of the park, spotting elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, lions, and numerous bird species.
After lunch, take an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile River to the base of the falls, with excellent views of hippos, crocodiles, and water birds. Later, hike to the top of the falls before returning to the lodge.
Dinner & Overnight: Fort Murchison Lodge
Day 3: Nile Delta Boat Cruise & Night Game Drive
After breakfast, embark on a Nile Delta boat cruise, where the river slows before entering Lake Albert. This area offers chances to see elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, and the rare shoebill stork.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then head out for a night game drive accompanied by a UWA ranger and spotlight. Look out for nocturnal animals such as leopards, hyenas, civets, genets, bush babies, porcupines, and night birds.
Dinner & Overnight: Fort Murchison Lodge
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Enjoy an early breakfast, then drive to Kibale National Park via Hoima and Fort Portal. The journey offers scenic views of the Albertine Escarpment and rural countryside.
After lunch in Fort Portal, continue to Kibale Forest, home to 13 primate species and rich birdlife. Check in at the lodge and relax.
Dinner & Overnight: Guereza Canopy Lodge (Mid-range)
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest for chimpanzee tracking. Observe chimpanzees feeding, playing, and caring for their young.
After lunch, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you may see monkeys, birds, and other wildlife while supporting community conservation initiatives.
Dinner & Overnight: Guereza Canopy Lodge
Day 6: Crater Lakes Walk & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic guided walk from Kibale Forest to the beautiful Kasenda Crater Lakes, passing through villages, tea plantations, and lush landscapes.
Later, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, located at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains between Lakes Edward and George.
Dinner & Overnight: Bush Lodge (Mid-range)
Day 7: Game Drive, Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise & Transfer to Ishasha
Begin the day with an early morning game drive, an ideal time to spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, giant forest hogs, and birds.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, famous for its large populations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and water birds.
After the cruise, transfer to the Ishasha sector.

Day 8: Ishasha Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Ishasha, well known for its tree-climbing lions. After lunch, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Arrive at the lodge and relax in preparation for the gorilla trek the next day.
Dinner & Overnight: Rushaga Gorilla Lodge (Mid-range)
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines. The trek may take between 2 and 8 hours, depending on the gorilla family’s location.
You will spend one unforgettable hour observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for relaxation.
Dinner & Overnight: Rushaga Gorilla Lodge
Day 10: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park – Batwa Cultural Experience
After breakfast, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for a guided Batwa Cultural Trail. Learn about the Batwa people’s traditional forest life, hunting methods, medicinal plants, and sacred caves, followed by cultural dances.
Dinner & Overnight: Icumbi Hotel (Mid-range)
Day 11: Mount Sabinyo Hike & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, drive to Mgahinga park headquarters and begin the Mount Sabinyo hike at 7:30am. This challenging one-day trek involves steep ridges, ladders, and rewarding views.
At the summit, enjoy views over Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo. After the hike, transfer to scenic Lake Bunyonyi.
Dinner & Overnight: Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort (Mid-range)
Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through rolling savannahs and Ankole cattle farms.
After lunch, enjoy an evening game drive to spot zebras, elands, impalas, hippos, crocodiles, and birds.
Dinner & Overnight: Rwakobo Rock Lodge or Kigarama Wilderness Lodge (Mid-range)
Day 13: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Kampala
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. Later, drive back to Kampala with a stop at the Equator for photos and lunch.
Arrive in Kampala in the evening.
Dinner & Overnight: Protea Skyz Hotel (Mid-range)
Day 14: Transfer to Jinja
Depart Kampala at 7:00am and drive east to Jinja. Stop briefly at Mabira Forest before continuing to the Source of the Nile.
Enjoy a boat ride at the source and a short city tour of Jinja.
Dinner & Overnight: 2 Friends Hotel (Mid-range)
Day 15: White-Water Rafting & Transfer to Mabamba
After breakfast, enjoy white-water rafting on the Nile River, covering an 18-kilometre stretch with a mix of gentle and challenging rapids.
After lunch, drive back toward Entebbe and continue to Mabamba Swamp.
Dinner & Overnight: Nkima Forest Lodge (Mid-range)
Day 16: Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Experience & Departure
After breakfast, head to Mabamba Swamp for a canoe-based birding tour in search of the rare shoebill stork and other papyrus-specialist birds.
After the excursion, transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight.
