Detailed 2 Days Kibale Chimp Trek Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale

From your hotel, your driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to Kibale National Park. the journey takes about 5-6 hours through the stunning countryside. Arrive and check in at the lodge. enjoy lunch and a short rest before embarking on an afternoon adventure.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Mabamba wetland Swamp for a guided nature walk. this swamp is a remarkable place to see different birdlife and primates. Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and travel to Kampala

After breakfast, you’ll head for Kibale Forest, where you can view the primates. The tour will begin at 8 am, and you’ll receive a briefing on the rules and regulations for the chimpanzee trekking tour. The exercise takes about half of the day, and along the way, you’ll see primate species like the Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Phoestes, Red-Colobus and the Blue tailed and the Red-tailed monkeys. You’ll also intermittently in the tour receive informative briefings about the primates and their lifestyle, about plants as well as the insects and butterflies. This is to ensure that the trekking journey is not only enjoyable but also educational in nature. You will return to the lodge for lunch, after which you will set off for Kampala, arriving late in the afternoon.
