Detailed 2 Days Murchison Falls Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park (5-6hrs)

You will have an early breakfast and drive to Murchison Falls National Park, passing through beautiful woodlands and Savannah grasslands. This journey takes 6-7 hours, and on arrival, you will have lunch and have a rest. In the afternoon hours at around 3 pm, you’ll be taken for a boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile to the base of the falls. You’ll be able to spot hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, and a variety of bird species, including the unusual shoebill stork. The boat will briefly stop just 10 meters from the Devil’s Cauldro,n from where you can take close-up pictures of the photogenic Murchison Falls. After that, you’ll be taken to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Red Chili or Windsor Hotel (budget) as per your preference.

Day 2: Game drive and travel to Kampala

You will wake up very early and set off at 6.30am for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau to see the Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and waterbucks. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog, and bush pi,g plus large carnivores including lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas.

Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park. Crocodiles and hippos will be seen along the banks of the Nile. which is also an excellent breeding ground for bird species. Some bird species likethe goliath heron, pelican, hornbill, kingfisher, bee-eaters, Egyptian geese, cormorant, saddle-bill stork, and the rare shoebill stork,k can be spotted near the bank. You will return to the lodge for breakfast and relax till afternoon, when you’ll be taken for a boat ride on the Victoria Nile, upstream to the base of the waterfalls.
