Routes & Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival for the tour – Uganda.
Upon landing in Uganda, you’ll be met by our safari representative who’ll take you westwards through the green countryside of Uganda to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey will take approximately 6 to 7 hours with stopovers at some of the tourist specific places along the way. This includes the Royal Drum makers’ village where you’ll get an opportunity to stand in two hemispheres concurrently. Through the savannah grasslands where you’ll come across banana and other fruit plantation, you’ll move towards the park. Along the way, you’ll see herds of local long horned Ankole cattle which are endemic and found only in this corner of Uganda. In the evening hours, you’ll arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge.

Day 2: Bird watching safari to Ishasha and Kyambura Gorge.
On the second day, most of our time will be spent on day game drives and bird watching. Game drives will be conducted in the Ishasha sector and the Kyambura Gorge. Depending upon the availability and season, you’ll get to see bird species like Martial Eagle, African Skimmer, Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl, Papyrus Gonolek, Amur Falcon, Small (Common) Buttonquail, African Crake, White winged Warbler, Ovampo Sparrowhawk, Lowland Akalat, Greater and Lesser Flamingo, Black Bee-eater, Caruthers’s Cisticola, Harlequin and Blue Quails, Terek Sandpiper, Secretary Bird, and Temminck’s Courser. Mammals in this section include Elephant, Spotted Hyena, Leopard, Lion, Ugandan Kobs, Warthogs, Giant Forest Hogs, Side-striped Jackal, Baboons, Chimpanzees, Bush and Water Bucks to name a few.

Day 3: Bird watching safari to Kasenyi Trail and Imaramagambo Forest.
This day we spend the morning on a game drive to the Kasenyi Trail. We shall carry packed lunch. Later in the afternoon, we drive to Imaramagambo Forest. Specialties here include; the Yellow-bellied and Jameson’s Wattle-eyes, Black Bee-eater, White-Tailed and Red-Tailed Ant-Thrush, Brown and Grey-chested Illadopsis, Shinning Blue Kingfisher, Brown-Eared Woodpeckers, Narina Trogon, Least Honey guide, Grey Greenbul and Brown-Chested Alethe. The trail through the forest leads past a bat cave, which is rather impressive, and if we are lucky we may come across a Python that lives in the cave and feasts on the bats.

Day 4: Bird watching safari to Kazinga channel, Uganda.
After breakfast, we shall take a boat trip for bird watching along the supernatural Kazinga Channel till late morning. Kazinga Channel links Lakes George and Edward, and is one of the most productive birding excursions on the planet. During the launch cruise, we expect to meet congregations of African Skimmers, Striated Heron, African Spoonbill, African Crake, Water Thick-knee, Three-banded Plover, Marsh Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Grey-headed Gull, Plain Martin, Lesser Swamp-Warbler, Collard Pranticoles, Yellow-billed Ox-pecker, and many others. Lunch at the Lodge and afternoon transfer to Kampala for either your flight or overnight at your lodge of booking.
